This leaning tower is 1/2 size replica of the original tower in Pisa, Italy.
Located in city of Niles, Illinois, USA, it was completed in 1934 by an industrialist Robert Ilg as part of a recreation park for employees of his electric ventilating company. The leaning tower was meant to hide a water tower which catered to two swimming pools in the park. The water tower has since become defunct and the leaning tower has been preserved as a symbol of the community.
