Bike On Rock

Google Street View

An unusual view of a bike on a rock in the Ronneby River in Blekinge County, Sweden.

No details about this unusual location for a bike are known. Presence of the electric wire however means that it must be lit up in the night. Obviously it is not work of some prankster but a carefully planned advertisement for some bike company or a piece of public art

Perhaps some of my readers can throw more light on it.

Credit for finding this unusual view is to Jesko Zabel, a member of Artistic Google fraternity, who recently shared this in Google+

The Waiting Man

Google Street View

This sculpture of a man waiting at a gateway is an artwork by British sculptor Sean Henry.  The sculpture officially entitled "Trajan's Shadow" was installed in 2001, at the Sculpture Park of Umedalen, UmeĆ„, Sweden.

The steel gate which replicates one of many squarish entrances of the ancient Rome's Trajan's Market also has shadows painted on it. (See Flickr image below, as these shadows are not visible in the Google Street View.)

As per the web site of the Sculpture Park, the man is "reminiscent of a figure on a stage with the structure framing both himself and the world around him. Painted on the gateway are shadows – most obviously his own but also another of a figure that has gone before, creating with the inclusion of the viewer a dialogue between past and present."

Man and His Goat On A Flying Carpet

Google Street View

Serendipity brought me to this strange wooden(?) sculpture of  a man and his goat on a flying carpet. The sculpture is located near the interchange between Hwy 26 and 27, Norra (=Northern) Nissastigen, Gislaved,  Sweden.

No details about this sculpture could be found on the WWW. Although few images of the sculpture are available on the Net, but these do not give any details.  Here is one from Flickr;
